In other momentous Scoutmob news, our Founder/CEO @davempayne and his wonderful wife Debbie delivered a beautiful baby boy at 12:09 AM on Thursday, March 21st.

Welcome to the world, Asher Martin Payne. We’ll refrain from adding fake mustaches to your perfect little face… at least for the first few months.

Congratulations to the new parents! Can’t wait to bring this little rockstar around the office.

MEET OUR WINTER INTERNS!

It may have taken an extra minute to get their faces up on this blog… mostly because commissioning such a complicated portrait* of these mobsters can take a little bit longer than the average iPhone photo.

Not to mention, they’re a busy bunch… so they rarely sit still long enough for the artist to really get it down.

In all seriousness, this group has so far proven to be one hard-working, fun-loving, awesome group. We’re lucky to have them their varied talents (and the baked goods they keep showing up with) here on Intern Island.

If you’re able to see this message, it means, despite Mayan predictions, we didn’t disappear into an apocalyptic hellfire after all. (YIPPEE!) And for that reason, we say: ‘tis time to come out from your WiFi-equipped underground bunker and celebrate the end of a great year… and the promise of a bright new 2013!

As for 2012, it was a pretty epic year here at Scoutmob: we continued our mission of celebrating the best of local in all of our fine cities—we’re most excited to have launched SHOPPE to our suite of local-loving products, a promising way extend our mission of promoting the best of local to these independent creators and their inspiring creations.

And now that this next year is looking like a sure thing for the rest of humanity, there’s MORE curious local goodness where that came from for the likes of 2013.*

Here’s hoping your year was as exciting and fulfilling as ours. See you next year!
