Scoutmob DC Revel: It's on.

Typically, at every party there are two kinds of people — those who want to go home and those who don’t. We can proudly say our Inaugural Scoutmob DC ‘Stache Bash was filled with the latter.

Tons of Scoutmob supporters filed in line to eat tiny sandwiches and drink our secret concoction of mustache milk. The performers & incredible visual artists were all at their best…even DC native Tabi Bonney made a guest appearance. Impressive huh? One word: SUCCESS.

An extra special thank you to all our incredible partners:

Salutations to Art All Night for providing the District with an artful adventure.

Hooray to our confidantes at verdeHOUSE. Morgan Greenhouse’s vision for DC’s landscape is fantastic & truly unmatched.

Bravo to No Kings Collective, who single-handedly (or should we say, collectively) transformed an abandoned warehouse into an artistic “party down” atmosphere. Submerge was totally supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Cheers to SUNdeVICH for the delectable bites and kwai for the awesome areca palm tree plates.

In conclusion, we want to especially thank YOU for taking time out of your busy lives to join us in our lil’ adventure. Revel was created to give back to our favorite fans that share the word about Scoutmob. Alas, you have now been knighted Sir Revel. So continue to share, chat with us on the tweet machine and fill our hearts with “likes”. The more you share using your link, the more awesome stuff you get.  (i.e. parties and sweet schwag)

You like? Yeah, you do.

Finally, we have tons of pictures and fond memories, including this recap from the lovely Capital Cooking. Reminisce. Until the next time our little Revelers.

Signed with revelery & admiration,

Scoutmob

Did you know Scoutmob supports our local business partners in TWO languages? And we’re not talking Pirate. Yet.

Everyday, Scoutmob people are at businesses in your town training servers, cashiers, managers and other staff. Now, this information is available in both English and Spanish. Another fine example of going the extra mile to ensure a smooth experience for both merchant and consumer.

“Exactly a year ago we started talking with investors for our Series A (funding) and they all asked, ‘How will you compete with the big boys once they decide to enter the space?’” he {David Payne, Scoutmob co-founder} said. “It’s a year later and many ‘big boys’ have come and gone.” —Co-founder Dave Payne quoted in CNN Tech: True Confessions of a Daily Deal Addict (via mobrumblings - the official record of Scoutmob in the News)

Scoutmob + Foodspotting = Mobspotting!

Looking for great dishes at places locals actually go? Scoutmob has teamed up with Foodspotting to bring over 500 deals to Foodspotting’s one million app users. Foodspotters and foodseekers now have instant access to Scoutmob’s 50-100% off deals directly in the Foodspotting stream — and it’s totally free, no credit card or up-front purchase necessary.

How it Works

When you launch the Foodspotting iPhone app in one of 13 major U.S. cities, you will see Scoutmob deals at businesses near you. There are nearly 500 deals available at any given time, encouraging you to support locally-owned restaurants. As always, no national chains, no laser hair removal.

You can redeem these deals by simply tapping on the deal and showing the confirmation screen on your iPhone - no credit card, print out, registration or purchase needed! Ever. On an Android phone? Stay tuned, as we’re working with Foodspotting to bring this feature to their Android app as well.

Foodspotting is a visual way to search for specific dishes you’re craving or browse the best dishes nearby. The internationally active community features only favorable recommendations and guides users to explore the best of local cuisine. It’s a fantastic way to see who’s weighed in on the best burger debate on your block.

We’ve loved working with Foodspotting’s team to make this possible, and as our first distribution partner, we’re excited to extend the reach of our local business owners to an audience of hungry foodseekers.

Celebrate with us

And what better way to celebrate this happy occasion but by eating? Join any of the four eat-ups we’re co-hosting with Foodspotting across the country - in San Francisco, Atlanta, New York City and DC. Each of these venues have active Scoutmob deal so that you can test out the Foodspotting + Scoutmob integration on the spot.

Please RSVP to attend. Just a heads up that we’re giving away a limited number of t-shirts to the first groups of attendees that arrive.

To connect the four events nationwide, we’ll have a Twitter contest to win a $50 gift card to the local eatery of your choice. Fire up the Foodspotting to see local restaurant deals, and tweet or Facebook about it with hashtag #mobspotting to be entered to win.

Hungry yet?

Go forth and launch the Foodspotting iPhone app, and start discovering even more new and interesting foods wherever you are!

Atlanta: A Taste of Revel

Last week Atlanta’s top sharers got “A Taste of Revel,” which brought three incredible local food experts into a one night only chocolatey smooth collaboration. Many thanks and a round of applause for locally roasted Batdorf and Bronson Coffee, Cacao Atlanta, and The Pie Shop for contributing to one humdinger of an evening.

Mouths watered and appetites were whet by a spread of pies from The Pie Shop, who crafted a special edition Chocolate Mocha Pie featuring whipped-on-site Batdorf & Bronson Coffee infused whipped cream and Cacao’s famous chocolate. Professional baristas were manually brewing single origin Batdorf & Bronson brews to perfection. And Cacao’s coffee bean studded bark was perfection, reminding us that we need to check out their new Virginia Highland shop.

A pop up performance by the lovely Bosco got the caffeinated sugar high fans to join in the fun with accompaniment of their own.

All Revelers had a sweet time, but don’t take our word for it. Dr. Princess and Atlanta Events blogged and tweeted their own first-hand accounts of the night. Want to see more? Check out the album on Facebook.

Don’t miss out on the next shindig. Revel was created return the love to our biggest fans, so join Revel and stay curious.
